Gift for Others

I collaborated with UCL Cancer Research Institute on the “Gift for Others” collaborative exhibition.

We were invited to tour the laboratories and discuss cancer research with scientists as well as survivors. The aim of the event was for artists to integrate scientific research into the final outcome and create a visually sensitive tribute to the visit.

During my research, I found that scientists form close, personal relationships with their work and patients. I reflected this through domestic, simple, and nostalgic forms, shaped by both the intensity of research and an appreciation for science.After microscopic observation and discussion, we all recognised that, despite their harm, cancer cells can appear deceptively beautiful.
